Egypt's Mubarak to be tried over protester deaths

The prosecutor general says that Hosni Mubarak and his sons will face trial on charges related to the deadly shootings of protesters during the uprising that led to the Egyptian leader's ouster.

Tuesday's statement was released on Egypt's state news agency. It comes after calls for mass demonstrations on Friday calling for the trial of Mubarak and his family and to lift the emergency law. (AP)
