Turkey calls on Syria to implement reforms

Turkey's foreign minister says Syria may yet still achieve stability if it carries out a "shock therapy" of reforms.
Ahmet Davutoglu said in an interview with Ulke TV late Thursday that Syrian leader Bashar Assad can cement trust if he implements a package of economic, security, judicial and political reforms. Davutoglu also said he believes Assad wants reforms but that "certain elements within the system" may be an impediment. (AP)
