Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman spoke with his Canadian counterpart John Baird and thanked him and Prime Minister Stephen Harper for refusing to include the 1967 lines as a basis for negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians in the joint statement issued by G8 members.
Canada is a true friend of Israel, and it understands that the '67 lines are not compatible with Israel's security needs and the current demographic reality, Lieberman said. (Ronen Medzini)
