IDF Chief on Itamar massacre: Not all available defenses were used
IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Benny Gantz said that system failed during the Itamar massacre when the Fogel family was killed. According to Gantz, despite pre-existing threats known to the system proper actions were not taken in the field and not all of the available defenses were used to protect the settlement.
Gantz also addressed the shooting at Joseph's Tomb last month, saying even though the incident was not premeditated the firing by Palestinian police was intentional and designed to harm the worshippers. (Hanan Greenberg)
