Iranian cleric: Suicide attacks are a duty for every Muslim
Ayatollah Mohammad Taghi Mesbah Yazdi, considered one of the radical Muslim clerics in Iran, published a religious edict on his internet site stating that suicide attacks are not only legitimate, but are also a duty of every Muslim.
"When protecting Islam and the nation of Muslim believers by acts of martyrdom, it is not only permitted, it is a duty," he wrote on his site. (Dudi Cohen)
