Ofer family won't send rep to hearing on Iran dealings

The Ofer family informed MK Carmel Shama that it will not send a representative to the Knesset's Finance Committee hearing on the allegations that the Ofer Brothers Group had commercial ties with Iran. Other parties that were invited also announced that they will not send representatives.

Sharma, who heads the Finance Committee, said in response: "In my opinion this is a mistake, but I don't have the authority to force anyone to attend the meeting. It would have been good if the Ofer family was present, (but) the series of evading letters that the committee received will not help anyone evade responsibility." (Zvi Lavi)
