Turkey's PM pledges new projects for Kurds

Turkey's prime minister on Wednesday announced new projects for a major city with a mostly Kurdish population in a bid to win the support of Kurds in June 12 elections.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan promised the restoration of Diyarbakir's 3 mile-long 11th-century city walls, building projects to replace shanty towns, a new airport and a large stadium for the city's football team, Diyarbakirspor. (AP)
