Peres asks Medvedev to avoid selling weapons to Syria

President Shimon Peres met with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in Italy, as per the latter's request. During the meeting Peres asked Medvedev to avoid selling arms to Syria.

Peres noted that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has made many mistakes and killed thousands of innocent civilians, and said that Israel would be grateful if Russia avoids selling advanced weapons to Syria for fear they would fall into Terrorist hands. (Ronen Medzini)
