Ban Ki-Moon says supports Palestinian state
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said that he supports the establishment of a Palestinian state, but noted that the decision on the matter is in the hands of the general assembly, Palestinian websites reported.
In a statement released after his meeting with Palestinian Presdient Mahmoud Abbas in Rome, Ban Ki-Moon expressed hope that the members of the UN will accept and discuss the Palestinians' demand for the recognition of an independent state. (Roee Nahmias)
