Barak to French FM: Help free Gilad Shalit

Defense Minister Ehud Barak met with French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe in Israel, asking him to help work towards the release of captive soldier Gilad Shalit.
The two discussed the French initiative to renew peace talks. Barak told Juppe negotiations cannot be held as long as Hamas, which does not recognize Israel, are part of the talks. (Attila Somfalvi)
