Syrian security forces killed at least 10 pro-democracy demonstrators on Friday when they opened fire at protests in the city of Hama, the Syrian human rights organisation Sawasiah said.
Three residents said that security forces, including snipers, fired from automatic rifles at thousands of demonstrators in the old quarter and in the nearby Assi Square in some of the biggest protests the city has seen since the uprising against President Bashar Assad erupted in March. (Reuters)
