Ashton: Israel must show restraint on Syrian border

EU Foreign Affairs Chief Catherine Ashton called on Israel to respond with restraint to Palestinian riots on the border with Syria. She also requested that the Syrians refrain from provoking Israel.
It is important that the protests remain non-violent and that the response be measured and proportionate Ashton noted. (AFP)
