Official: India test-fires nuclear-capable missile

A defense official says India has test-fired a nuclear-capable missile with a range of 220 miles (350 kilometers).

 

The official says the surface-to-surface Prithvi missile was fired Thursday from India's missile-testing range in Chandipur in the eastern state of Orissa. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. (AP)
