PA: US says will oppose UN statehood declaration

Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said US officials had stressed before him during a visit to Washington that the White House would object to a Palestinian declaration of statehood at the UN General Assembly.
Erekat told the al-Ayyam daily that he had presented the plan to a number of top officials, including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. (Elior Levy, Ynet's Palestinian affairs correspondent)
