Iran summons UK diplomat over Syria claim
Iran summoned Britain's charge d'affaires to the country following a claim by Foreign Secretary William Hague that Tehran was meddling in Syrian affairs Iranian news agency ISNA reported Thursday.
"The remarks were entirely unfounded and baseless," the Iranian official added. "The UK government is not qualified to make comments about other countries due to its interventionist acts and destructive role in regional developments particularly training some countries' military for crackdown on people," the Iranian official continued.
