Embassy enraged as Congolese diplomat detained by immigration
The Interior Ministry's Oz immigration unit detained a Congolese diplomat Thursday, sparking anger at the embassy in Tel Aviv. Oz officers say the diplomat refused to show them his papers or to identify himself, and that he had shouted expletives at them.
The Congolese ambassador says the diplomat is an attaché and that he would "not accept such actions". No comment has been made so far by the Foreign Ministry. (Omri Efraim and Ronen Medzini)
