Vietnam welcomes efforts by the international community, including the United States, to help cool tensions in the South China Sea, the foreign ministry said, after weeks of flare-ups over maritime disputes with China.
The comments late on Friday coincided with an announcement by a Vietnamese company responsible for promoting maritime safety that the navy was planning a day of of live-fire drills off the central coast on Monday. (Reuters)
