Yemen: 5 soldiers killed in blast in south

Five Yemeni soldiers were killed and several others wounded in an ambush by suspected fighters from al Qaeda, near Loder, in the Abyan province (south), a bastion of extremist network, witnesses said Saturday.

The assailants attacked with automatic weapons and rockets on a military convoy carrying reinforcements and supplies for the Battalion 111, based Loder, they added. (AP)
