The father of Ilan Grapel, who was reportedly arrested by Egyptian authorities, denied claims that his son spied for Israel. Daniel Grapel told Ynet that his son arrived in Cairo after the ousting to the government as part of a volunteer program initiated by a US university, where he studies law.
"Ilan wasn't sent by anybody, he is not connected with the Mossad or the Foreign and Interior Ministries," Daniel Grapel said. He noted that he last spoke with his son on Saturday. (Aviel Magnezi)
