US: $95 mln payout in sexual assault case

Ashley Alford, a young woman from Illinois who worked for a rent-to-own furniture chain in Fairview Heights, will $80 million in punitive damages and $15million in compensatory damages after she was sexually assaulted by her employer.

This is the highest ever payout awarded to a sexual assault victim; however, a cap on compensation payments in the US state means the payout may be limited to $43 million. (News agencies)
