Report: IHH reconsidering Gaza-bound flotilla plans

The organizers of the Gaza-bound flotilla might cancel the departure of the Marmara ship from Turkey, the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reported. According to the report, the IHH announced it is considering backing out on the plan in light of developments in the region, especially in Syria.

The newspaper quoted a spokesman for the organization as saying that “We are reconsidering our plans. We cannot close our eyes to the developments on our doorstep… We think we can serve the purpose by sending a ship or canceling it.” A final decision is expected to be reached by the end of the week.
