UN council recommends 2nd term for Ban Ki-moon

The UN Security Council on Friday unanimously adopted a resolution recommending that UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon be elected for a second term beginning in January 2012.

The 192-nation UN General Assembly is planning to formally re-elect the former South Korean foreign minister to the top UN job on Tuesday, diplomats say. (Reuters)
