Hamas official: UN recognition bid nothing but a Fata Morgana
Hamas politburo official Khalil al Haya said that the Palestinian Authority's bid to gain recognition for a state in the United Nations is nothing but a "Fata Morgana."
"The recognition of a Palestinian state already happened in Algeria in 1988, when more than 100 states recognized it. What is the use of doing it again?" he said, adding that as long as there is no Palestinian state on the ground, the recognition is pointless and armed resistance is the only way to act."
