Border Guard soldier shoots at Palestinian man who rushes on IDF outpost bearing knife

A Border Guard soldier prevented a terror attack at an IDF outpost near Qalqilya Sunday, the army said. The soldier opened fire at a Palestinian man bearing a knife. Witnesses said he yelled "Allahu Akbar".
The commander on the scene commended the soldier and said troops had showed determination and proper conduct.

The incident occurred at 12:40 pm, when a Palestinian man arrived at the outpost and pulled out a knife. The combat soldier on guard fired a warning shot, but the man rushed at him and began climbing the fence, the IDF said.
  • The soldier fired at the Palestinian's lower body, injuring him moderately. He is currently being treated by IDF medics, who say they will transfer him to security forces for interrogation once he is stabilized.
