Rabbi Elyashiv undergoes successful operation
Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, 101, leader of the Orthodox Lithuanian public, underwent carotid artery surgery at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem on Sunday night.
The operation was successful, and the rabbi's doctors believe he will be released home later this week. Prayers for Elyashiv's health were held at the Western Wall and haredi communities during the surgery. (Kobi Nahshoni)
