Minister orders team to examine rising dairy prices

Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Shalom Simhon has ordered the establishment of a team that will examine the escalating prices of dairy products, as well as other issues connected to the import of dairy and price regulation in the field. Simhon was instructed to do so by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who asked for recommendations regarding opening the dairy market to imported products.

MK Shai Hermesh, the who heads the agriculture lobby in the Knesset, said that Netanyahu's request "is a declaration of war. The agriculture lobby will not stand aloof when someone wants to sentence the agriculture market in Israel to death." (Tani Goldstein)
