NATO: Alliance's website possibly breached
None
NATO says unidentified hackers have used a cyber attack to block one of its websites but that it doesn't contain classified information. The alliance said Thursday that police dealing with digital crimes notified it of a probable data breach at NATO's e-Bookshop, a service for the public.
Access to the site has been blocked and subscribers have been notified, the alliance said. NATO has identified cyber defense as a critical capability it needs to develop. A cyber defense center has been established in Tallinn, Estonia, to defend against and recover from such cyber attacks. (AP)
