France: We are not forsaking Gilad Shalit
None
French Foreign Minister Alan Juppe stated ahead of the fifth anniversary of Gilad Shalit's kidnapping that "the condition in which he is held – in captivity and in violation with the basic principles of international law – is implausible."
In a statement issued by the French Embassy in Israel, Juppe added that France is not forsaking Gilad, and noted that he is the French hostage who has been held in captivity the longest. (Ronen Medzini)
