Zvi Shalit: Netanyahu opposed to prisoner swap deal

The grandfather of captive soldier Gilad Shalit, Zvi Shalit, wrote a letter on the five-year anniversary of his grandson's abduction which was read at a ceremony at the Eshkol Regional Council on Saturday. "Gilad is still withering away as a criminal in a Hamas basement through no fault of his own," the letter read.

The letter also noted that while Defense Minister Ehud Barak was in favor of the prisoner exchange deal, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was against it and refuses to change his mind. (Ilana Curiel)
