PRC: Israel unable to negotiate with us

Popular Resistance Committees spokesman says Israel failed to obtain info on captive soldier Gilad Shalit despite cooperation with foreign armies

The Popular Resistance Committees' (PRC) spokesman Abu Muhajid said Saturday that the fact that five years have passed since Gilad Shalit has been captured is a testimony to Israel's failure and inability to negotiate with the PRC "on their just demand to release Palestinian prisoners."

Abu Muhajid ridiculed the Israeli intelligence services and the IDF chief of staff for failing to obtain a single report on Shalit despite cooperation with foreign armies and access to advanced technological means.

The spokesman said that the plan Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced to aggravate the confinement conditions of Palestinian prisoners will only bolster Palestinian determination. He noted that the Netanyahu administration bears full responsibility for the failure of talks and continues to set obstacles to a prisoner swap deal. This proves Israel does not wish to reach a solution, he claimed.

Abu Mujahid stressed that the PRC has formed a clear strategy in efforts to release Palestinian prisoners. "Shalit's abduction was not the last one and we shall carry out additional abductions until the last prisoner is released from Israeli jails."

Meanwhile, Hamas' military wing Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades uploaded a new video allegedly showing Palestinian prisoners in Israel being tortured, on the five year anniversary to Gilad Shalit's abduction.

The video compares Shalit with Ron Arad and says that Hamas has vowed that Shalit will not see the light of day before Palestinian prisoners do.
