Report: Egypt backs Abbas as head of Palestinian unity gov't

Saudi newspaper al-Madina quoted Monday an Egyptian source as saying Cairo would like to see Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas head the new Fatah-Hamas unity government.
According to the report, Egypt suggested Abbas will have two deputies, one based in Gaza and one based in Ramallah. (Elior Levy, Ynet's Palestinian affairs correspondent)
