Meretz faction to join Jerusalem Municipality coalition

The Meretz faction in the Jerusalem Municipality is set to join the coalition – one year after defecting to the opposition – Ynet has learned. Senior Meretz officials said that Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat has promised not to promote a program that aims to demolish residential buildings in the neighborhood of Silwan during his first term.

Acording to Meretz sources, the municipality has also committed to oppose gender separation during public events. (Ronen Medzini)
