Minister: Palestinian prisoners will not be allowed to study

Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch said Palestinian prisoners convicted of terror-related violations will soon lose their right to academic studies. The measure is part of an Israeli decision to take away prisoners' rights in order to pressure Hamas into releasing kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit.
Aharonovitch is also working to block cellular reception in prisons with systems that will also prevent the smuggling of phones. He added that Palestinian prisoners do not have the right to vacations or conjugal visits. (Moran Azulay)
