Steinitz: Cottage cheese battle proves consumers' clout

Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz addressed a consumer boycott that led to a drop in cottage cheese prices, saying, "It was a magnificent battle, with good results, that reminded us all that consumers have clout".
He said criticism of the government, which had not intervened in the consumers' favor, was misplaced because "it is the job of consumers and salespeople". But he added that the state must make sure the market is not monopolized. (Ilana Curiel)
