Culture and Sports Minister Limor Livnat, who heads the Ministerial Committee for the Advancement of Women, announced that she will oppose the public committee's recommendation to raise women's retirement age to 67. The current retirement age for women is 62.
"Raising the retirement age will harm primarily women who are fired or are forced to retire early due to the nature of their jobs," Livnat said. "The new retirement age will cause them many years of unemployment." (Attila Somfalvi)
