PM: All citizens must respect the law

In a veiled response to the arrest of Rabbi Yaakov Yosef, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that "Israel is a law abiding State, no one is above the law – I demand that every citizen respect the law."
Meanwhile Minister Yuli Edelstein said: "I would consider every police and state prosecution action very carefully. I'm not giving out marks and I haven't examined the ration between left and right but every democracy takes wider issues into consideration when it comes to law enforcement. I'm sure that in the matter of halachic literature there should be some special consideration." (Omri Ephraim)
