IDF force comes under fire near Gaza fence

Roadside bomb explodes near IDF tank operating next to security fence in southern Strip; one soldier lightly wounded

Skirmish on the Gaza border: An IDF soldier sustained mild injuries Thursday after a roadside bomb exploded near an IDF tank operating near the security fence in southern Gaza.
The soldier received initial treatment on site, before being taken to the Soroka University Medical Center in Beersheba.
It was initially believed that Palestinian fired an anti-tank missile at the troops.
Palestinian sources said that three bulldozers and five tanks entered the Strip, venturing some 300 meters from the fence, near the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis.
According to the Palestinians, the troops used machineguns to fire at residents' homes.
The IDF stressed that the only fire discharged was in response to the Palestinians' rocket fire.
On Tuesday IAF aircrafts targeted both a terror cell preparingto launch rockets at Israel, as well as a smuggling tunnel innorthern Gaza Strip.
