Bangladesh: Police clash with strike supporters

News reports say police in Bangladesh have fired tear gas shells to disperse thousands of Islamist activists trying to enforce an anti-government general strike.

Private television stations ATN News and Boishakhi TV report that several people have been injured in Sunday's violence in Keraniganj town outside Bangladesh capital Dhaka. (AP)
