Ministry to haredim: Find place for Sephardic students in schools
None
Director General of the Education Ministry Dr. Shimshon Shushani demanded Tuesday that the mayor of Jerusalem and the mayors of other haredi cities establish a special committee that would be responsible for placing girls from the haredi sector is schools when none are found for them.
The need for a committee arose following complaints received by the ministry according to which girls of Sephardic heritage were discriminated against for their ethnic background. Shoshani asked that the mayors complete the placement process by the end of July. (Liron Nagler-Cohen)
