Senior Hamas official: Netanyahu thwarted swap deal

A senior Hamas official currently in prison said his organization agreed to a swap deal - including the deportation of 80 prisoners to the Gaza Strip for the release of captive soldier Gilad Shalit - but claimed Israel refused to agree to it.

In a letter sent to Palestinian news agency Maan, the senior Hamas official accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of thwarting the swap deal. The official insisted that Hamas showed "great flexibility" over the terms of the deal. (Roee Nahmias)
