Cabinet approves solar energy production quotas

The cabinet on Sunday approved the realization of production quotas on solar energy of up to 460 megawatts and decided to set additional quotas on solar energy for personal use - 110 megawatts by 2014.
According to the proposal which was formalized together with the Ministry of National Infrastructures and the Environmental Protection Ministry, special compensation of 10% on every quota will be allocated to Judea and Samaria. In addition, 210 megawatts will be allocated for the production of energy from biological materials. (Yael Darel)
