Norway noncommittal on Palestinian statehood

Norway views Palestinian efforts to gain UN recognition of statehood as "legitimate" but isn't ready to declare its support for an independent Palestinian state just yet.

That was Norway's message to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday as he visited the Scandinavian country, a major donor to the Palestinians. (AP)
