Police fired teargas at anti-government demonstrators in Malawi's capital on Thursday, a radio station reported, after an unprecedented day of nationwide unrest in the southern African country against President Bingu wa Mutharika.
MIJ 90.3 FM, a private radio station, said demonstrators clashed with security forces in Lilongwe, although the situation in the commercial capital of Blantyre was returning to normal. (Reuters)
