Ministers okay bill to merge emergency hotlines

The Ministerial Committee for Legislative Affairs has approved in a preliminary reading a bill calling for the unification all of the emergency response hotlines into one.

Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch said that the bill proposal, which would merge the police and rescue services hotlines if passed, "will improve the response to emergency situations, and make it more efficient." (Omri Efraim)
