Minister seeks cancellation of Knesset recess over protests

Shas Chairman Interior Minister Eli Yishai called on Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin to cancel the Knesset summer recess due to "one of the greatest crisis' in the history of the State of Israel," in his words.
In a letter to Rivlin he claimed that the wave of price hikes in the economy and the housing and medical crises should compel Knesset members to enlist to laborious parliamentary work over the next few weeks, which is why the recess cancellation must be taken into consideration. (Kobi Nahshoni)
