Katsav defense opposes motion to hold appeal behind closed doors

None

Moshe Katsav's attorneys have expressed objection to the state's request to hold the former president's appeal hearing behind closed doors. In a statement submitted to the Supreme Court, the defense wrote: "This case should be open to the public, so it can evaluate the evidence and its interpretation for itself."

The state claimed that keeping the hearing under wraps would protect the complainants against Katsav. (Aviad Glickman)
