South Korea landslide leaves 12 dead, 2 missing

None

Heavy rain sent a landslide barreling into a resort in a northern South Korean town Wednesday, leaving 12 people dead and two others missing, officials said.

Eight of those killed in the early morning landslide were college students who had been doing volunteer work, said Byun In-soo of the town's fire station. They were staying in a resort cabin in Chuncheon, about 68 miles (110 kilometers) northeast of Seoul, when the mud and debris engulfed them. (AP)
