Abbas: 122 countries recognize Palestinian state in '67 borders

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that the Palestinian Authority has sought support on five continents for its request before the UN to recognize a Palestinian state in September. According to Abbas, so far 122 countries have recognized the Palestinian state according to the 1967 borders.

Speaking at the PLO Executive Committee meeting, Abbas claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to go back to zero point in the negotiations for a peace agreement. "We prefer to negotiate with Israel and the UN appeal is not a substitute for talks," he explained. (Elior Levy, Ynet's Palestinian affairs correspondent)
