Jittery guard panics over eggs
Security guard fires at Jaffa home after being 'attacked' by eggs, water; no one hurt
Exaggerated reaction: A 44-year-old security guard was detained in Jaffa Wednesday evening after firing at a home in the city.
The guard said she shot at the home after residents there poured water and hurled eggs at her.
Police officers also detained two young men who were staying at the home at the time of the incident.
An initial investigation revealed that the security guard was walking on the street when she was "attacked" by the eggs and water. The frightened guard pulled out her firearm and shot at one of the homes in the area.
The security guard fired four shots, but fortunately missed her target. The sound of shots prompted large police forces to arrive at the scene for fear that they were dealing with an apparent assassination attempt.
However, police officials soon discovered that the incident stemmed from entirely different circumstances.
During the incident, a security guard working for a different company also passed on the street and provided police investigators with his version of events.
