The Jordanian father of a US soldier suspected of plotting to attack a Texas military base accused the Army Friday of fabricating the accusations against his son because he refused to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The soldier, 21-year-old Pfc. Naser Abdo, was arrested Wednesday at a motel near Fort Hood, the same military base where a 2009 shooting rampage killed 13 people. Abdo told authorities he planned to construct two bombs in the motel room and detonate the explosives at a restaurant frequented by soldiers, court documents released Friday said. (AP)
